The rhythm of the sea has always been inimitable, until Aman Resorts’ latest waterfaring venture, Amangati. For over 35 years, the luxury resort chain has been synonymous with sanctuaries of opulent tranquility, with retreats all over the world offering experiences for every vacation style of the high-end traveler. From the snow-capped Italian Alps at Aman Rosa Alpina, to the jungled canopies of Thailand’s Phuket peninsula at Amanpuri, Aman Resorts has redefined leisure on almost every continent.
And when each continent has seen the Aman effect, what’s next?
The sea.
Amangati, the first glimpse of Aman-at-Sea, is the superyacht christened in Sanskrit, its name meaning “peaceful motion.”
Construction is underway in Genoa, Italy, under the skilled hands of T. Mariotti S.p.A., with the launch scheduled for spring 2027. The announcement of Amangati follows the vessel’s keel-laying ceremony in July 2024, a moment that marked the tangible beginning of a journey, both literal and symbolic. The name, chosen with care, reflects a movement that is fluid and deliberate, a quiet force that propels guests forward while honoring the gentle flow of the sea. In the philosophy of Aman, motion is not mere travel; it is a meditation, an unfolding of time and space where design, comfort, and nature coalesce.

At 600 feet, Amangati is a vessel of grand yet intimate proportions, built to accomodate up to 94 guests with their own host per suite. Unlike mega-yachts, Amangati’s 47 suites promise space not merely in dimensions, but in experience. Each suite is 532 square feet adorned with its own private balcony, a threshold from which the sun and salt-laden air of the Mediterranean can be drawn into the private realm. Interiors, designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, echo Aman’s aesthetic of serenity: clean lines, natural materials, and a quiet sophistication that allows the beauty of the surroundings to assert itself.
Curved ceilings in Japanese ryokan-style interiors and full height windows make each suite open to the sea views. Decorated in timber tones, ash wood floors, travertine, spa-style bathrooms, and woven linen walls, Aman's Asian-fusion aesthetic is on full display. The Aman Suite, the yacht's highlight accommodation, spans 2,000 square feet with its own private terraces. Some Aman Suites even come with their own private plunge pools that flow into the sea.
“The vessel will embody the very essence of our brand’s DNA, providing exceptional privacy, best-in-class amenities now synonymous with Aman, and our signature unparalleled service not yet experienced on the water,” said Vlad Doronin, Aman chairman and CEO.
The experience is defined beyond the vessel’s accommodations. Amangati offers a curated suite of amenities that deepen a sense of place and well-being. Culinary journeys span four international dining concepts, where flavors are elevated by fresh ingredients and the attentive artistry of chefs attuned to Aman’s philosophy. Nama, Aman’s signature restaurant, will also come aboard for Japanese-fusion dishes. In the evenings, the Jazz Club becomes a sanctuary for sound, a space where music drifts like candlelight across polished surfaces, enveloping guests in intimacy and reflection. The Aman Spa, crowned with a Japanese garden, promises restorative ritual, where therapies are enhanced by mindfulness, natural light, and the gentle murmur of water. The Beach Club at the stern offers a rare dialogue with the sea itself, direct access to the turquoise depths, moments to float, swim, or simply absorb the horizon in silence. Deck 6 features a 16-metre pool, mounted on a sundeck with loungers, extending rejuvenation from the spa’s whirlpool baths, yoga sessions, and skincare rituals.

This vessel, however, is not merely a haven of luxury; it is a statement of intention. Aman has embedded a suite of green technologies into Amangati’s mechanics, including battery-powered propulsion, underscoring a commitment to sustainability. Travel, in this vision, is not a passive indulgence but an ethical act: to traverse the world with minimal imprint, to honor the delicate seascapes and coastal landscapes that inspire wonder. In Amangati, the promise of Aman’s sanctuaries is extended to the waves, where the ethics of care are as integral to the experience as the design of a suit or the texture of a towel.
For those fortunate enough to step aboard, Amangati promises more than travel; it offers transformation. Each sunrise over the Mediterranean becomes a ceremony, each port a chapter in a narrative of discovery, where destinations are not merely seen but felt. Stops will include the Greek Isles along the Adriatic Sea, the Bay of Naples, the Amalfi Coast, the French and Italian Rivieras, and Mediterranean Spain…think exotic Andalusia and Costa del Sol. Detail and reverence for place will mark each voyage along Europe’s most antiquity-rooted shores.
Aman’s expansion into the maritime world is a natural extension of a philosophy cultivated over decades. Since its inception in 1988 with Amanpuri in Phuket, the brand has grown into a constellation of 35 hotels, resorts, and residences across the globe, each a testament to the power of understated luxury. Yet Aman has also redefined the boundaries of its ethos, from skincare and fragrance to interiors and fashion, ensuring that the principles of serenity, quality, and mindful living permeate every lifestyle category. Amangati is a continuation of this evolution: a vessel that is at once a retreat, a home, and a journey in motion.
While the exact itineraries and charter details remain forthcoming, anticipation is already palpable. In announcing Amangati’s maiden voyage in 2027, Aman has distilled decades of experience into a vessel that embodies both continuity and innovation. It is a bridge between land and sea, private retreat and communal experience, design and philosophy. For travelers who seek the Aman way of life, it offers a new horizon, one where every wave, every sunset, and every quiet morning on the balcony becomes an invitation to pause, reflect, and just be.
In preparation for Amangati’s debut, Aman at Sea welcomes Angela Composto as Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Reservations. With over two decades in luxury travel and cruise leadership, Composto brings a proven record in market expansion and brand strategy.
“I look forward to introducing Aman’s deeply rooted values and reputation for excellence to the world’s oceans,” she shared.
